Download the HPL2 engine suite tools to get started developing.

Installation instructions

Windows

Extract the files and folders directly into the game directory, where Amnesia.exe resides.

Logs are placed in <Documents>\HPL2.

Mac OS X

The tools are 32-bit, and thus only supported on macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or earlier.

Extract and run the installer. It should automatically detect your installation location. It will also install shortcuts to the editors in the launcher for the game.

The Mac App Store version of the game is not supported, as updates will remove the tools.

Logs are placed in ~/Library/Application Support/Frictional Games/HPL2.

Linux

Extract the zip file and run the installer script (hpl_editor_suite.sh). The installer should automatically find your currently installed copy of Amnesia if you installed it in one of the common installation locations. If not, simply select the Amnesia folder where you installed the game.

HplLangTool.exe is included, and can be run through Wine.

Logs are placed in ~/.frictionalgames/HPL2.
